Consolidate Excel workbooks

Add the workbooks you want to stack, arrange them in the order the rows should follow, and get one table holding every row from every visible worksheet that holds data. Hidden worksheets are skipped unless you ask for them. Nothing is uploaded: the whole task runs in this browser tab

Files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to ConsultChimps

Want each worksheet kept as its own tab instead of one stacked table? Merge the workbooks. Which one do I want?

1. Add workbooks

Drag one or more Excel .xlsx or .xlsm workbooks here, or pick them with the button below. Rows are stacked in the order shown

No workbooks added yet

Optional. Defaults to `consolidated.xlsx`. The `.xlsx` extension is added for you

Look inside a workbook

See the worksheets, header rows, columns, and sample values one of these workbooks holds, and which spellings its headers carry before you map them

2. Map columns onto one schema

Optional. A column mapping is a versioned JSON document that folds headers meaning the same thing into one canonical column, so “Case ID” from one system and “Reference” from another stack into a single column instead of two. Without one, columns are matched by header name

Drag a .json column mapping here, or pick one with the button below. It is read and checked as soon as you add it, before any workbook

Suggest a mapping

The suggestion groups the headers that already match once case, spacing, and punctuation are set aside, and applies none of them. Review the groups, rename a canonical column where you want a different output name, then download the draft and add it above to use it

3. Run

Add at least one workbook to consolidate
